 Good Morning!
Coffee Cup Devotion with Dr.Tabb (Mon,Wed. Fri.)
Jesus was in a boat with His disciples when a storm came up quickly on the Sea of Galilee. As the waves swept over the boat filling it with water, they feared they would drown. As Jesus stood up, saying "Peace be still". the wind ceased and there was a great calm. My friend sometimes the winds of adversity blow on our lives like a raging hurricane , but no matter how strong the gale we can experience the quietness that God gives to us,"Peace be still"

  .In the Fiery Furnace

In Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar made a huge golden image that everyone was commanded to bow down and worship. Three Hebrew young men—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego—refused to worship the king’s image, Furious, the king ordered that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. and they were bound up, hand and feet, dragged to the furnace, and thrown in. These young men knew the Lord was able to deliver them from their fiery trial. But even if He didn’t, they had resolved not to compromise their faith
The king then noticed something odd. In verse 25, he said, “Look! I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!
My friend, if you’re in the furnace now, look around. God has not abandoned you. He’s there walking with you, and He will not forsake you!

“Same Page?”
“And be not conformed to this world :but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2)
When you are going through so much , It 's a good feeling, to know that you are God made, not man made. You listen to another drummer, who orchestrates and designs every detail of your life. The most interesting thing about this kind of journey, is that you are not afraid to accept the
challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of the victory. Can you attest to this?

“A Strange Sound"
There is a strange sound coming forth, from the pulpits of our day.
“If you will give, then God will .…” (You fill in the gaps).
“If you will sow a seed ,then God will break the curse of poverty over your life” , Or, “If you will send a gift of X to our ministry, then we will pray for your love ones.” (You mean you won’t do it if I don’t send you some money? Like my rent money, my children’s lunch money, electric bill, gas bill , water bill, money....) Come on the Devil is a liar!!! We are not to give “grudgingly or out of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 )
My friend, don’t allow anyone to take you out of the grace of God, and put you in psychological , financial ,or emotional bondage ! Stand fast in the liberty that Christ has given to you.

“ Humility”
Two of Jesus’ disciples, James and John, came to make a special request of the Lord saying, ““Grant that we may sit in Your glory, one on Your right, and one on Your left.”(Mark 10:35-45." In other words they were saying we don’t want much Lord, .just the two highest positions of honor in your kingdom- next to you!”
Jesus said, “whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all (verse 43-44).” Jesus was teaching his disciples that the kingdom of God does not operate like the world fight-for-the-top, look-out-for-number-one” -principle that the world seems so familiar with. Jesus taught that true
greatness in His kingdom ,is measured not by how many people serve you, but rather by how many people you are willing to serve. And remember in God’s Kingdom, “Down is Up!!!

" Hmm....... A Giant! "
I'm sure you probably know the Bible story of how a boy named David fought and killed a giant named Goliath (I Samual17) The point is that Goliath trusts in his prowess, while David's boldness comes from his absolute faith in the Lord his God -- that God will help him. And so David overcomes his natural fear to face the giant because he knows that his God is bigger than the giant.
What are you facing? Have fear immobilized you? Do you imagine that it's you alone against your giants? No matter how lopsided the odds seem to be, your giants are puny compared to Almighty God. Remember the battle is not yours, it’s the Lord's!

“Real Love”
Love is many things to many people, but it should always begin and end with respect. Love will not abuse, cripple, crush, break or shatter your spirit!
1 Corinthians chapter 12, says it better: love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

“No More Chains ”
Salvation is through faith and not in deceptive feelings that are inconsistent with the Word of God. Satan tries to hound us with feelings of guilt, fear, and unforgiveness, But my friend, there is a vast difference between feeling guilty and being guilty .
Romans 8:1 lets us know that “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are free. No More Chains!!

'Who Are You Yoked To?
You’re dating an unbeliever but ……Why is that we think that we can change people and force them to do what we want them to do. It is a fact my friend, that people will not change until they feel a need and desire to. It starts with them, and not with you! God gives each person free will. He waits to be wanted, and so should you. Any emotional attachment you have toward a person who is not on the same spiritual page as you, or vice versa, is an unhealthy attachment.
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? II Corinthians 6:14

“Dealing with Distractions (Nehemiah 6:1-14
The Book of Nehemiah reveals that you can expect resistance when serving God. A good role model- Nehemiah weathered the storm of resistance by praying, and trusting, God. When you are told that you will not succeed, think of Nehemiah’s refusal to be intimidated by his enemies. When your goals and aspirations are challenged remember Nehemiah’s fine example of perseverance. Speak faith filled words, and never give up . Stay focused, faithful , and firm. .God’s plan and his work are just too great for us to abandon for the devil’s foolishness!

“In the Waiting Room”
Waiting is one of the hardest things to do, because it forces us to rely on God.. May you find encouragement as you mediate on God’s Word, and wait until He fulfills His promises in your life.
“He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength .Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" . (Isaiah 40:29-3

'Beware"
God said, “I am against the shepherds and… will remove them from tending the flock… I will place over them one Shepherd…” (Ezek. 34:10,23) For “the hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.” (John 10:12,13) Indeed, this is the case with many of the leaders in the church today. They care nothing for the flock ; all they care about is getting fed by them – huge salaries, fine cars, and above all – honor They are not prophets, but are making profit off the sheep. Beware!!!

“This is How We Do It"
When we work, we work as for the Lord and not for men. No matter what the circumstances, we can find fulfillment and satisfaction in our work, as long as we keep God as our priority. We have the opportunity to show the love and character of Jesus Christ, when we don't lag, drag or moan. Let us represent our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ well by being faithful and diligent in 2014!
Colossians 3:23 – "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

"Draw me Nearer"
“I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me, But I long to rise in the arms of faith, and be closer drawn to thee. Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord:)” These beautiful lyrics are resonating in my spirit this morning.
As Christians, our growth is often impeded because of our desire to latch on to things and to people, instead of latching on to God. But, James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”
Here are a few things we can do to draw nearer to God:. Read His Word (Psalm119:105) Confess our sins ( 1John 1:9) and Pray (Jeremiah 33:3)

"A Table in the Wilderness ”
Psalm78 recounts the spiritual experience of the Israelites during their forty years in the wilderness. They had seen wonderful examples and demonstrations of God's ability, and had witnessed the 10 plagues upon Pharaoh and his people because of the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart.
Yet, in light of all God had done for them, they asked “Can God set a table in the wilderness ?” (V.19). They assumed the answer was no, but God sent manna and quail.
We must remember even when we are in our wilderness, feeling abandoned, forgotten, and wondering if life will ever change; God
is the One with whom all things are possible, and for whom nothing is too hard!

“Behold”
The revelation of being in Christ changes our concept of who we are. We become a new person with a new attitude, new behaviors, new likes, and dislikes. The transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly, is the only way to explain that which is unsightly to that which is eye-catching! Needless to say, that only Jesus can exact such a change in us, so fly high butterfly, fly high!!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

"3 Reasons to Celebrate"
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.
( Psalm 100:1-5)
I will try to paraphrase this beautiful Psalm. Because of Gods unfailing love, His tender mercy , and His abounding grace, we are more blessed than we know, richer than we think, and we have more than we realize. So lets make a joyful noise and celebrate!

“Opening the Flood Gates”
Psalm 118:1 “Oh give thanks, unto the Lord for He is good:”
A thankful heart can change the way you see life. It is a flood-gate opener to blessings, joy, and peace. Here’s something you can do, to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
.
Meditate on the things that you have in your life to be thankful for.and if you can’t be thankful for what you have received, be thankful for what you have escaped. Thank You Jesus
